When & Where

When?

Saturday 14th April at 12.30pm

Please arrive at the Cathedral from 11:30 and by 12 noon latest, so that everyone can be seated before the service begins.

The service in the Cathedral will run through lunchtime and into the afternoon. Please have a good breakfast or brunch before you arrive!

Where?

Southwark Cathedral, London Bridge, London SE1 9DA

Public transport  is the easiest way to get there. The area is very busy at weekends and parking limited. The Cathedral is only a few minutes walk from London Bridge overground and tube stations, and buses crossing the bridge stop almost outside.

If you’re driving please allow extra time to park elsewhere and make your way by foot or public transport.

What?

Our marriage is a romantic expression of our love and care for each other, as well as facing up to the practicalities of growing old together in a society where co-habiting couples still have no legal status. The wedding also embodies our strong links with our local community and with Southwark Cathedral, formerly the Church of St Mary Overie.

While remaining true to our shamanic roots, we’ll freely embrace the Anglican wedding service, especially since we’re to be married by The Dean, the Very Revd. Andrew Nunn. Andrew welcomed the productions of The Southwark Mysteries in Southwark Cathedral and conducted the Act of Regret, Remembrance, Restoration in Crossbones Graveyard. He is encouraging us to include in the service non-traditional elements particular to us and our friends.

Southwark Cathedral is a huge, awesome space so we’d like to invite all friends and extended family to come and celebrate the wedding service with us!
